The presentation marked an important step in bringing the draft outcomes of the APEC Tech for Good Workshop, held earlier in Shenzhen (News), to the broader PPSTI community. The report highlights practical policies, technology solutions, and case studies from across APEC economies, exploring how innovation can support people-centred development, sustainable and inclusive growth, digital transformation, green transition, resilient communities, and regional cooperation.

More importantly, the advocacy on Tech for Good was reflected in the draft PPSTI Summary Report 2026, marking a meaningful recognition of the importance of advancing technology for broader public value within APEC’s science, technology, and innovation agenda.

Sam Han, Partner of Union Comm and Project Researcher of the APEC Tech for Good project, presented the report’s key findings and case highlights during the PPSTI meeting.

“Tech for Good is not only about technology itself. It is about how technology can serve people, communities, enterprises, and future generations,” said Sam Han. “Through the Report, we hope to show that many economies in the Asia-Pacific already have practical and adaptable solutions that can support sustainable development, digital transformation, and regional cooperation.”

The report also introduces the Shenzhen Tech for Good Framework, a voluntary, non-binding, and evolving reference for discussion. Drawing on Shenzhen’s strengths as a technology innovation hub, the framework explores how cities and economies can translate technological capabilities into social value, practical cooperation, and shared development outcomes.

The presentation in Dalian represents another milestone in Union Comm’s continued work in APEC-related research, policy advocacy, international communication, and Tech for Good case development. Union Comm will continue to support cities, enterprises, research institutions, and community stakeholders in turning regional cooperation opportunities into practical and lasting impact.
