Union Communications Hong Kong Limited (“Union Comm”), a leading policy advocacy and communications agency, once again secured a research contract under an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) initiative and officially commenced related research work.

The project, titled APEC Tech for Good Workshop (Link), focuses on how technology can promote inclusive and sustainable growth. It explores how digital solutions and technologies, particularly AI, can support economic development, bridge the digital divide, and strengthen regional cooperation and capacity building across the region. The project also echoes the APEC Putrajaya Vision 2040 (Link) and the APEC 2026 priorities of “Openness, Innovation and Cooperation,” promoting exchanges and cooperation on topics including Tech for Good and digital inclusion across the region.

As part of the project, Union Comm will contribute to research, case study development, and policy recommendations, helping summarize practical experiences across the Asia-Pacific region. The project will also explore sustainable and replicable models for collaboration.

“Technology is not only an important driver for economic development, but should also become an important tool for promoting public good, social inclusion, and regional cooperation,” said Sam Han, Partner at Union Comm. “Tech for Good is not only a direction, but also represents how technology can genuinely respond to the needs of different communities and promote more inclusive and sustainable development models. We are delighted that Union Comm can once again participate in APEC research work, and we look forward to exploring new possibilities for technology for good and regional cooperation together with more international partners in the future.”

Union Comm has long participated in APEC and other international multilateral mechanisms, with continued focus on topics including digital governance, technology policy, and social inclusion. Union Comm also expressed sincere appreciation to the Beijing International Exchange Association (Link) for its strong support in project collaboration and international exchange efforts, and looked forward to promoting further exchanges and cooperation with partners in the future.
